about
Written on Saturday, recorded by the next monday, mixing done by tuesday. I don'/t think I've ever produced a track this quickly.
I was influenced by 1980s new wave (like the dBs, TMBG, elvis costello) to write a song with a quick tempo, but a sweet and wistful sound
lyrics
You cast away like a lifeboat at sea, were you only trying to get out way away from me?
Write me a letter from the island you find and tell me what was really on your mind
Sharing milkshakes was fine for a while, you find that you're still sucking at an empty glass
So you pounded the table, I found I wasn't able to keep my balance, I was on my ass
Wonderful, you can never know what goes on
Wonderful, you can never know what went wrong
What went wrong?
I see my friends and they ask what went wrong, I say I don't know man, I thought we got along
She wants to go somewhere, it wasn't clear, but well I guess that somewhere's far away from here
You're a man of science, maybe you can find a model and a function and a graph
I guess I'll get along, tell me science man, what do you predict I will do next
What will I do now? What will I do now? I don't know
When it's wonderful, you can never know what goes on
Wonderful, you can never know what went wrong
